There are so many people who have inspired me in different aspects of my life. My family has played a huge role in who I am today as a person. Growing up they taught me so much about my culture and values. They’ve also influenced the products I use today and their rituals have inspired my current beauty routines.
Since I was young, my family has focused on using products that are free of added chemicals free of added chemicals. Allergies have always been a common issue and my family has fair skin that is sensitive to many products. Picking products that are free of parabens has been instilled upon me at a young age. I grew up with grandmother’s and family that valued the importance of taking care of oneself and using hair products that enhance natural beauty. The focus was always in using products that come from nature and having a proactive approach to beauty.
One of my favorite questions I get is about my haircare routine and some of my favorite hair tips and hairstyles I always go back to.
How would you describe your hair?
My hair is very thick and there is a lot of it! I definitely come from a family with a good set of hair and focus on enhancing natural color/texture. I add highlights to my natural hair color so I focus on products that are good for my hair and will protect its color and health.
What hair tips did you learn growing up?
I learned to moisturize and work with my natural hair texture and thickness at a young age. I also would braid my hair for waves instead of using a curling iron daily to promote smooth hair.
How often do you wash and condition your hair?
I wash my hair typically 1-2 times a week. I learned with my hair that it is best to also deep condition once a week to keep my blonde hair healthy and strong.
What shampoo and conditioner have you recently been using for your short hair?
Some of my favorite products I’ve incorporated into my hair routine have been the Pantene Nutrient Blends Miracle Moisture Boost Collection with Rose Water. They are free of sulfates, parabens, dyes and mineral oil which I love. The Rose Water Shampoo provides gentle cleansing and leaves my hair feeling so soft. I also use the Rose Water Conditioner which hydrates hair to tame any frizz and it leaves a silky finish. It is perfect for every day and gives the moisture boost I need when I wash my hair.
Do you have a favorite deep conditioner?
Yes, I love the Pantene Nutrient Blends Miracle Moisture Boost Petal Soft Hair Treatment with Rose Water which is a rinse-off deep treatment that provides intense hydration. I use this once a week in place of conditioner but it can be used more often if your hair is extremely dry.
Why are products with rose water so beneficial?
Rose Water is loved for its hydrating and soothing benefits. Moroccan women visit the hammam weekly to purify and moisturize their entire body as a proactive approach to nurturing their natural beauty.
Thinking about the history behind my “hairitage” has truly made me appreciate through the years the importance of embracing natural products that provide healthy benefits to us as we age. I love thick, wavy hair that has been passed down to me and love that the Pantene Nutrient Blends Collection has the same values of a proactive approach to beauty.
