This past week I got to meet some of my favorite Philadelphia Bloggers for lunch and shopping at the new King of Prussia Town Center. It was my first time here since it was built and it did not disappoint one bit. Ever since I lived in Raleigh, NC where there are so many outdoor shopping areas with cute boutiques, I have been waiting for one in the Philadelphia area that gives the same vibe. Needless to say, the King of Prussia Town Center has everything you could want in a shopping center: great stores, a cute outdoor area to hangout, delicious restaurants of all price points, and creative artwork that makes you feel like you are almost in an art gallery.
One of the things that initially stood out to me at the KOP Town Center was the gorgeous outdoor appearance of the town center. All the buildings are new, unique, and filled with such vibrant colors. As I made my way over to where I was meeting the girls for lunch, I fell in love with the town center courtyard. Anyone knows that shopping (especially around the holiday’s) can almost feel like you ran a marathon. Even with the comfiest of shoes, you often look for that one place to kick up your feet even if for one second. The courtyard in the middle of the town center is the perfect spot with fountains, reclined chairs, tables.. just the perfect space to lounge and relax. This would also be a great spot for husbands and kids to hang out while they wait for you to finish your shopping!
Throughout the store fronts are also various creative backdrops by local watercolor artist, Stephanie Corfee. We had the best time while walking around, posing in front of all her bright, colorful designs which make perfect photo opportunities! We also made ourselves queen’s for the day with the King of Prussia Town Center crown symbol in some of the backdrops!
The Town Center also has a diverse collection of restaurants including: Honeygrow, Fogo de Chao, City Works Taphouse. Paladar Latin Kitchen, and Davio’s. After a tough choice we headed over to Davio’s for lunch. Davio’s is a widely known downtown Philadelphia restaurant and one of my favorites in the area! We decided to get a sampling of the menu which is in my opinion the best way to go when you are with a close group. This way you get to try a little of everything, which when married to a chef and loving food is just the best thing. I would highly recommend everything… but in particular the spring roll’s (try to get a sampler), kobe meatballs, and the tagliatelle bolognese were absolutely delicious.
After lunch, I headed into Ulta and Nordstrom Rack to do a little shopping before heading home. I wanted to pick up some of my favorite foundation which is a constant re-buy. Then, I want to note that I almost did not make it out of Nordstrom Rack without buying the whole store. My wishlist included new jeans, this dress, and this kate spade bag. I rationalized that since the prices were so good I would almost be saving money. Isn’t that always the case?
A special thanks again to the King of Prussia Town Center, Cashman & Associates, and Davios for having us this week. Photography by Deirdre Landolt of @thephotographycoop
