When it comes to beauty and hair products I love trying new things, however I have some tried and true favorites that I always go back to. When the temperatures go up, I definitely simplify my routine and go back to the basics.
With my makeup routine, I have freckles which I try to protect from the sun but at the same time do not try to completely camouflage. I love to emphasize my eyes and in the summer stick to a really good mascara. For lips, I always fall back to a moisturizing and not sticky lipgloss with a hint of color. In terms of my hair, I add highlights and lowlights to keep it blonde which can make my hair super dry. I also love to put a slight beach wave to my hair which does not help the condition. Therefore, to keep my hair healthy, I really try to only shampoo and condition once or twice a week. A good dry shampoo is necessary as well as a protectant that leaves my hair feeling soft. Here are my favorite products that I can not live without:
1. Benefit Hoola Matt Bronzer-The one bronzer I have used all the way to the bottom of the packaging. The color is perfect throughout the year and gives a natural tan color. It also is great for a little contouring.
2. Stila Convertible Color in Peony- I like a more dewy, natural look and this blush does just that. It is the prettiest color and one I use daily. It also has lasted me forever since a little goes a long way.
3. Essie Topless and Barefoot Polish– With nail polish, I either go dark, white, or natural with my short nails. When I opt for natural, I love this pink-beige color. It is just the right amount of pink for a barely there look.
4.it Cosmetics CC+ Cream– I used to be an avid tinted moisturizer fan until my friend introduced this to me. I swear it is a miracle product every time I put it on my face in the morning. It does such a good job evening out the tone of my skin and even helps with undereye circles. This CC Cream is also perfect for a quick morning in a pinch. Just add mascara!
5. It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-in Product– I have tried doing my hair without this product and I always go back to the store to buy more. With coloring my thick hair almost monthly and using a curling rod, I rely on this product to protect, detangle, and bring softness to an otherwise unruly mane at times. Yes it does all of that with just a couple of sprays. Sold.
6. Tarte Energy Noir Lip Gloss– I credit another one of my lovely friends for introducing this lip gloss to me. I hate lipgloss that is overly sticky and not moisturizing. This gloss feels amazing on your lips and leaves just the right amount of natural color.
7.The Wet Brush– If there is one product I swear by it is this brush. I have pretty thick hair which tangles a lot but that is no match for this brush. I use it every time after I wash my hair and every morning when my hair is dry. My friend even has the mini wet brush to carry with her wherever she goes. I mean you never know when you need to brush your hair. It’s a must have!
8. Batiste Dry Shampoo– Since I try to only wash my hair once or twice a week, a good dry shampoo is necessary. I have tried almost every type of dry shampoo and after another friend introduced this to me, it has been my hands down favorite. Oh and it’s under $10!
9. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara– I always opt for a mascara that gives me the look of false lashes without the hassle. This mascara has been my recent favorite for full, long lashes that I swear make my eyes look bigger and brighter the minute I put it on. It also comes off easily at night when I wash my face (without taking my lashes with it) which also makes me a huge fan.
Do you have any favorite products you can not live without? I would love to hear about them so feel free to leave them in the comments! xo
