Teeth Whitening? Have you tried it yet? Does it hurt? Can I drink coffee and wine again?
Recently I went to Rittenhouse Dentists on the Main Line in Bryn Mawr to get a whitening treatment and all my questions got answered. It has been something I have wanted to do for the longest time but did not know exactly who to go to! Truthfully ever since I started blogging, I have noticed that my teeth have not been as white as I would like them to be when I smile. So when the opportunity came up to work with Dr. Abdulla and Rittenhouse Dentists I jumped at the chance.
When I arrived, the office was so welcoming and adorably decorated. Why have my dentists never felt like this before?! They immediately took me back to one of the rooms and walked through the treatment with me. Dr. Abdulla took x-rays of my teeth and explained how they would be doing the Zoom Whitening Treatment. If you have never heard of that ( which I had not either) it is pretty much a treatment where a machine emits a blue light over your teeth to lift the stains off. A whitening agent is put on your teeth and left to sit to lift the stains under the blue light in 15 minute intervals. Most people need about 3 to 4 rounds of the 15 minute whitening sessions (I needed 4).
So the best part…before we began, unlike any dentist I have ever went to before, I was given a paraffin wax treatment. Total heaven on my hands and to make it even better she asked what show I would like to watch. They actually have goggles you wear so you can watch any Netflix show as the treatments take place. Naturally I watched the office and just tried not to laugh at Dwight as my teeth were whitening.
Some things I learned:
-Tooth Sensitivity is real and different for everyone. Dr. Abdulla kept asking me about the sensitivity of my teeth throughout the appointment and let me know that I could experience slight “zingers” from the treatment. These zingers are just short periods of sensitivity which were not even noticeable until a little later that night. Sensodyne was my best friend that day since Dr. Abdulla said it really helps with any tooth sensitivity and she said I could even put it on my gums. I also took a few Advil just in case but by the next day there was absolutely no sensitivity.
-When you need anything done with your teeth, go to someone you trust. I felt like I was in the best hands with Dr. Abdulla and her team. Every step of the process I was informed about and told what to expect. I barely had any tooth sensitivity and was relaxed the entire time. Rittenhouse Dentist’s office truly felt like home and I was the most comfortable I have ever been at a dentist.
-Cost- The typical cost of the Zoom Whitening Treatment is $499 and they run promotions at different times during the year. If it is something you are remotely interested I would definitely call and discuss your options! The staff there is extremely friendly and I am now ready to discuss with them my next option of doing Invisalign. Totally taking these teeth to the next step in 2019.
-Locations and website: Rittenhouse Dentists have a couple locations in the Philadelphia area so you can find the best one for you! They are:
Bryn Mawr (Main Line)
Can’t wait for you to check them out and say hi to Dr. Abdulla for me! And yes, you can have coffee still.
xx
