ASOS Denim Smock Dress / Gladiator Sandals
Happy July! This past weekend was so much fun and I kind of just want to rewind it all. For my weekend wardrobe, I wore this white denim smock dress and instantly wanted to wear it everywhere. Usually it is a lot hotter around this time of year, but with the gorgeous weather, it was the perfect white dress to pair with an american flag.
We actually ended up having a little rib cook-off and chargrill oyster cookout on Sunday. Since it was so pleasant out for July, we were able to have our family and some close friends over for some food and drinks. I was excited we were finally able to use our backyard! It was actually the first time we had everyone over since we moved back to the area. Everyone really helped out with bringing things for the barbeque which included extra chairs and tables as we are still furnishing the backyard. I have such a long list of items I want for the front porch and backyard. I mean does it ever end? That is obviously a whole different post that I will do!
On a side note: my brother, brother-in-law, and husband really out did themselves with the ribs, clams, and chargrilled oysters. I always say when they do these “friendly” competitions that anyone who eats is really the true winner because everything is always so good. My husband actually went to the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley ( I need to visit) and got his culinary degree. Therefore, my biggest job is to browse and research delicious looking recipes (I have a whole board of food on pinterest that I don’t know if I have every used) which I am really quite fine with.
I found this denim smock dress on ASOS (a favorite site of mine) and the babydoll shape caught my eye. It does flow out a lot but the stretchy white jean material of the dress makes it work. I also liked that even though it was shorter, the sleeves balanced it out. I then paired it with my lace up sandals because I wanted a more casual look to go with the raw hem of the sleeves.
Even with the weekend over, I am excited for the short week ahead as we are getting a visit from one of my college roommates. Anyone else have fun plans coming up?
